| Public details: Nasa describes the Geminids as “one of the best and most reliable annual meteor showers of the year”, with up to 120 Geminid meteors appearing per hour in perfect conditions.
In 2023, the new moon falls on December 12. So there will be a dark sky during the peak of the 2023 Geminid meteor shower.
Expected meteors at peak, under ideal conditions: Under a dark sky with no moon, you might catch 120 Geminid meteors per hour. |
