Public details: It's hot, let's tube for my birthday! Ichetucknee river starting at the south entrance is a two hour tube run in cool, delicious year round 72 deg F water. It just does not get better than this in N. Central FL! Let's do an early run between 9 and 10 AM, then break for a picnic, and tube again after lunch if you like. You will need to rent a tube on the way if you don't have one. Tube rental is available in Ft. White and other places along the way. Event link 2 will take you to the Ichetucknee Tube Center website. Here is some important info so PLEASE READ. chetucknee Springs State Park is located four miles northwest of Fort White, off State Roads 47 and 238. From the south, take I-75 north to exit 399. Take US 441 north to the city of High Springs. Take US 27 north to Ft. White, stay on US 27 north approximately 4 miles to the South Park Entrance. Summer Tubing Instructions The South Take-Out gate is closed to traffic during peak visitation times and during the summer months (Memorial Day to Labor Day). It is accessible from the river for tubers/paddlers- use the Concession Tram service or hiking trail to get to the South Entrance Parking Lot. During the summer months (Memorial Day to Labor Day) you may experience longer than usual wait, so plan to get there early because the wait to park can be a bit long. Entrance Fees $6 per vehicle. Limit 2-8 people per vehicle. $4 Single Occupant Vehicle. $4 Motorcycle Fee (one or two people). $2 Pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass. NOTE Tram and shuttle service is offered by our park concessionaire. The cost for tram service is $5.50 plus tax per person. The cost for shuttle service is $7.50 plus tax per person which also includes tram service. Tram and shuttle tickets and wrist bands are purchased at the concession facility adjacent to the parking lot at the South Entrance of the park. Food- I am thinking if we want to grill burgers we could chip in for the meat, or we can bring our own meats to grill. We could use an grill master too, so if anyone would be willing to volunteer that would be great. Please mention what you will bring to the picnic when you sign up.
