ONLY ROOM FOR TWENTY-FOUR OF US ON THIS TRIP...*****CARPOOLING IS SUGGESTED*****...... PARKING IS SPARCE OUT THERE. PLEASE TEAM UP WITH OTHERS ALSO, WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE SITE "SANTE FE COLLEGE GEOLOGICAL PARK, AND GO DOWN THE 200 FT LONG DIRT ROAD, PARK OFF TO THE L EFT OF THE PAVILION... We have got a fantastic cave trip all set up for you on March 28th, 2010. The cave is just North of Newberry, so it is fairly close to us. It has several entrances, one actually has a staircase so it is good for anyone with bad knees or that does not like climbing. It also has a natural sink that we can climb down into. The sink is a fairly easy climb so we normally don’t use ropes.
Bat Cave has large rooms, sand crawls, and muddy claustrophobic passages. So it has something for everyone.
There is also a pavilion at the cave site with tables, running water, and bathrooms. The property is managed by Santa Fe College so we give them $3.00 a person which goes into maintaining the property. A check is preferable, made out to the
Santa Fe Endowment Fund.
We'll meet at 11AM. Expect to be underground for around 3 hours with an hour before and after for prep and cleanup. It does help to car pool due to parking limitations, so if everyone is driving separately we can meet at the collage parking lot before the trip.
Feel free to write or call if you have any questions. |
